Cages for your feet?

Why, hello there!
How lovely of you to join us :)

I’m posting, today, to get your opinion on a some shoes... (Ooooh! I hear you say)

Well, those in question are the 'Cage' shoes, booties and ankle boots from the Yves Saint Laurent Spring 09 collection.

I haven’t really seen a huge reaction to these (and I don’t know why?! remember the HYPE over the Rodarte-Louboutin studded stilettos from fall 09?), but I’d like to get a scope of yours.

Strictly just for catwalk?

Seen anyone out on the town in them?

Would YOU wear them?

You cannot deny these shoes certainly catch your eye!

So, whether you’re a lover of shoes or not… what say you?

YAY or NAY?

  2. a definite nay! in my opinion, they dont seem very practical i reckon they would hurt quite abit to walk in. but mainly, they dont seem that attractive and lets face it-shoes are meant to be a pretty thing arent they!?

  3. u know what, they arn't half bad, but ONLY if you have NICE FEET (toes in particular) i probably would if it wasn't raining, although not when it is sunny, the tan would be hideous!

  4. I'd have to say nay im afraid. I think they look terrible and as though they'd be so uncomfortable. A lot of people would proably find them quite quirky but id rather have a pair of stiletto's or standard wedges any day.

  6. i would defo say hot strictly for the catwalk
the sandal version at the bottom could work in real life-but only for a middle aged European woman on a cruise sort of look!

  7. To be honest I think they're gonna be a hit on the catwalk and with exclusive designers. If YSL advertise them, people will go for anything. Seeing as you can incorporate them into summer sandals [the thin 'net' design covering the foot] i can see them being a hit in highstreet shops as well, and could sell well if highstreet designers sell a flat and a heel design for summer shoppers! The 'normal' people always want to copy something resembling designer....

  8. I actually think they're really nice, and they look incredible with the YSL red sequin playsuit.
Personally, wouldn't wear them because I hate feet! But think they could stand alone as a art piece!
Now some shoes to talk about are the Balenciaga tights/shoes combo, they are AMAZING - look them up!

  10. Definately strictly catwalk- they look to fierce for regular wear. Much prefer the black to the metallic shoes though which look slightly too cheese grater-ish.

  12. I think they are absolutely hideous and are just meant for shock value tbh. I have no idea what kind of woman would pull these off but I havnt seen/ dont know anyone that would in London!
